Google Gemini App Launches on Android and iOS for Workspace Users

Google Gemini App Launches on Android and iOS for Workspace Users

Gemini is an AI assistant designed to allow users to ask queries about their Gmail inbox, including finding emails from specific senders or summarizing email content.

Gemini app also offers research capabilities, and allows users to quickly convert handwritten notes or whiteboard sketches into Google Docs or Gmail for storage and sharing. However, some enterprise-grade features that are found on the web such as Workspace extensions, file uploads and Gems are missing in Gemini app.

    Gemini’s core features

Google’s intuitive Gemini mobile app makes AI-driven productivity effortless. Offering access to core functionalities such as inbox search, email summarization and image recognition with simple voice command commands, Gemini also integrates with other Google services like YouTube, Maps, Gmail and Calendar via extensions for seamless use.

Enhance learning tools enable users to quickly master new topics and enhance performance with personalized study plans, step-by-step explanations, quizzes and customized study plans. Furthermore, Imagen 3–Google’s latest high-quality image generation model–makes this app double as a creative tool, turning text prompts into photorealistic visuals.

Gemini for iOS will be made available over a 15-day period for Google Workspace users with either Business, Education, or One AI Premium add-ons. It supports multilingual conversations in 10 distinct voices and offers handwritten note translation. In addition, Gemini now recognizes and converts handwritten notes into text as well as creating visualisations from whiteboard images for instant visualizations. Finally, this mobile app offers free-flowing conversations which include the option of interrupting and switching topics easily.

    Gemini’s enterprise-grade features

Gemini offers additional productivity-enhancing capabilities beyond its core abilities that streamline productivity and minimize switching between apps. For instance, it can search Gmail inboxes for specific types of emails or distill them to highlight key information without needing to read all of it. It can also connect seamlessly with Google apps like YouTube, Maps and Calendar through extensions that let you ask Gemini questions without opening them directly.

The app also provides research capabilities, allowing you to quickly search and locate quick answers. Furthermore, you can take photos of handwritten notes or whiteboard sketches and convert them to text for easier access in the future.

Gemini supports multiple languages–ranging from English and Japanese to Korean–to meet user needs from across different regions and cultures. Google plans on adding even more languages over time to expand Gemini’s reach further and make it even more accessible worldwide.

    Gemini’s mobile features

Gemini’s mobile app for iPhone will give users easy access to Gemini’s full suite of AI assistant features. These include Gmail Q&A, which enables users to ask the assistant to search their inboxes and find specific information without manually searching themselves; additionally it can summarize email content or answer general inquiries.

The app will also give users access to Gems, a collection of tools designed to boost learning and productivity. These include personalized study plans, step-by-step guidance and knowledge quizzes. In addition, Gemini Live allows for conversation between user and assistant.

iOS users will also have access to an enhanced feature that enables them to take photos of handwritten notes using their phone’s camera and import them directly into Google Docs or Gmail, which was previously only available through mobile web and Google app; as well as Gemini Business Enterprise or Education Premium add-on subscribers and subscribers of Google One AI Premium subscription plans.

    Gemini’s limitations

Gemini’s generative AI functionality is an impressive asset to mobile devices, though not flawless. Sometimes its chatbot gets frustrated trying to interpret complex queries or its transcription is inconsistent.

Google plans to integrate Gemini into Workspace ecosystem and Drive account. Users will be able to ask Gemini questions regarding files such as searching or summarizing document content.

To access Gemini’s features, an eligible device that meets Android or iOS system requirements must also have Google accounts (not Google Assistant, Workspace Education Account managed by Family Link or for minors) with Gemini Apps enabled and Gemini access enabled on them; additionally you’ll need the most up-to-date version of the Google app installed on mobile device – more details on this can be found at Google Blog.
