Instagram is developing a generative AI editing tool that will allow creators to edit videos using simple text prompts, with minimal impact. Company head of Instagram Adam Mosseri provided a demo showcasing how this tool could alter outfit or add an accessory such as gold chain while maintaining natural motion.
AI-Powered Editing Tool
Instagram users will soon have the power to edit videos using text prompts alone, with only minimal effort required. Instagram plans to introduce generative AI editing tools on its platform next year, according to Instagram head Adam Mosseri’s announcement in a teaser video. Powered by Meta’s Movie Gen AI model, these new tools will allow creators to alter nearly every aspect of their videos with text-based changes.
Previews demonstrate how adjustments such as changing scenes or accessorizing subjects can be made without altering the quality of video footage. In one clip, for instance, Mosseri’s background transitions from sunny day to snowy atmosphere without impacting video quality; while another has him donning felt Muppet-like clothing.
Instagram is using Movie Gen for various uses, from creating new videos and improving existing ones, to exploring ways to automate caption generation for videos, and providing personalized reels based on users’ content preferences.
Text Prompts
Social media marketers sometimes struggle with coming up with fresh posts to fit within Instagram’s character limit, leading to writers running out of creative ideas or having difficulty fitting phrases within it. AI copywriting tools may come in handy here; but for those not ready to invest in paid options yet, Instagram now offers its own text prompt feature as a free alternative.
Prompts will appear alongside Polls in Feed and Reels to encourage engagement by asking yes/no questions and offering tailored prompts for various content types.
Movie Gen was unveiled by the company earlier in October to allow creators to edit videos with simple text inputs. Instagram’s Adam Mosseri demonstrated this tool’s abilities to alter his background, add gold chains and even transform him into a puppet-like version of himself – as well as to blend effects such as creating snowy atmosphere or placing him into desert environments.
Blending Effects
Instagram has been hard at work to enhance user experiences on its platform. Not only has the social network been increasing engagement through new features like Stories Editor and Teen Accounts, but it is also working on ways users can customize their feeds more efficiently.
Instagram Head of Product Adam Mosseri unveiled an AI tool on Thursday that allows creators and their videos to look different with just one text prompt, from altering outfits to even turning people into felt puppets – while still maintaining quality video! It was impressive in its ability to manipulate videos while maintaining natural results.
Meta’s advanced Movie Gen AI model, first unveiled in October and capable of creating videos from text prompts while maintaining human identity and movement, will soon be making an appearance on Instagram. Meta is currently focused on developing its generative AI tools so users can take advantage of advanced transformations without professional editing software.
Artificial Intelligence
Instagram’s AI video editing tools offer an effective new way of unleashing creativity and personalization on the platform. Their aim is to empower creators by making advanced transformations more accessible, while improving quality video sharing on Instagram.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri teased the launch of artificial intelligence-powered tools for use on the social network in a video released this month. Users will be able to manipulate nearly any aspect of videos using text prompts; Meta’s Movie Gen AI model will power these tools which should become available sometime next year.
The demonstration video displayed remarkable capabilities of Movie Gen AI, such as its ability to morph a person’s outfit and background; adding details such as gold chains around necks or turning them into felt puppets in desert landscapes. Similar tools exist such as Adobe Firefly and OpenAI Sora but Meta says Movie Gen AI stands out by accurately maintaining details like identity and movement more effectively than these other services.
